If you have read my "About Me" page, you will know that another passion of mine is football (soccer). The team I support locally is named Creswell FC. They play in a top amateur league named the Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League or ADASL. I include a link of interest for them because they are worth a look.
I encurage all who enjoy sports to give them a try in person. The games are “FREE” to attend and all games, home and away, are in the Atlanta Metro area. Kelly McKernan is an artist and illustrator from Atlanta Georgia that I admire greatly. Kelly has, since her youth, possessed the ambition to be a full time creator. She is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. While her training was in traditional painting, her focus has been in mixed media, specifically in combining film photography and advanced darkroom techniques with aqueous media painting. Over the last two years, Kelly has received local, national, and international recognition for her unique work, has been printed in a number of major publications, and is currently showing with several notable galleries. She is also a member of the Cheap Paper artist collective. |

A Major creative influence on my work is the art of Erté. He was the Russian-born painter actually named Romain de Tirtoff, but called himself Erté after the French pronunciation of his initials. Erté was one of the foremost fashion and stage designers of the early twentieth century. From the sensational silver lamé costume, complete with pearl wings and ebony-plumed cap, that he wore to a ball in 1914, to his magical and elegant designs for the Broadway musical Stardust in 1988, Erté pursued his chosen career with unflagging zest and creativity for almost 80 years. On his death in 1990, he was hailed as the "prince of the music hall" and "a mirror of fashion for 75 years". |
